Before BYU

Was on the honor roll all four years at Brighton High in Sandy ... MVP of the American Legion All-Star Game ... made the Utah All-Star Team.


Started 14 of his 16 games last season, including a complete game ... pitched a perfect two innings of relief at Oklahoma State in a rain-shortened 6-4 loss ... got a save at Fresno State ... had a 3-8 record with a 7.29 ERA ... sidelined in 1998 with shoulder injuries ... played in the summer of 1997 for the Little Falls Knickerbockers in New York where he had a 5-2 record with a 1.30 ERA ... was BYU's third starter in 1997 ... posted a 2-3 record with a 6.57 ERA in 13 appearances and 50.2 innings ... had a 3-0 record with a 6.68 ERA in 31 innings for 1996.
