Served an LDS Church mission to Leipzig, Germany...married Angie Boyle in May, 1999... on April 12, 2000 he and his wife had a baby girl named Isabella Dawn ... parents are Ron and Janice ... majoring in exercise science.

Before BYU

Played on Orem High's 5A state champion team in 1995...was all-region and all-state...coached by Terry Harward (BYU).


Second team All-Mountain West Conference in 2000 and named MWC Player of the Week for his performance against Air Force ... batted .333 in starting 41 of 42 games ... had 53 hits, 14 of which were doubles ... had one inning of relief pitching vs. Southern Utah ... hit a pair of homers in BYU's opening loss at Utah ... homered in both games of a Saturday doubleheader at AFA when he was five-for-five in the opener ... longest hitting streak was eight games at the beginning of the season.

Other College

Was second team all region at Utah Valley State College in 1999...led team with .403 batting average, 17 doubles and five triples...also had nine homers, was 10 of 17 in stolen bases ... in 1996 prior to his mission when he led the team with a 2.66 ERA with a 2-1 record and five saves...also hit .272 with four home runs...coached by Steve Gardner (Weber State).
