Before BYU

Prepped at Pendleton High where he was a three-time scholar-athlete ... was all-league and league MVP ... batted .488 as a senior ... first-team all-state ... team captain who lettered three years in football, basketball and baseball ...was all-state and two-time first-team all-conference in football and had over 5,000 yards passing and 53 TDs as a quarterback ...was league MVP as a quarterback and one of USA Today's Oregon Top 12 Football Players ... coached by Lyle Phelps and Steve Cary.


Started 19 of his 44 games in 2000 and batted .344 with six homers and nine doubles ... was 5-7 in stolen bases ... led team in slugging at .667.
