Born April 1978 in Salt Lake City ... parents are Greg and Paula Knight ... is one of eight children ... brother Shane played at BYU from 1992-95 and brother Travis now plays in the NBA after collegiate career at Connecticut ... served an LDS Church mission in Cleveland, Ohio ... enjoys water skiing and reading ... majoring in construction management.

Before BYU

Prepped at Alta High School in Sandy, Utah ... as a senior he led the Hawks to a 14-8 record while averaging 24.6 points, 16 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game ... was the state's top scorer and selected as all-state and all-region ... earned 10 all-tournament honors and honorable mention USA Today All-America status ... helped Alta win the state title as a junior ... coached by Ron Carling.


Knight transferred to BYU from Kentucky ... he becomes eligible to play his senior season on Dec. 16 vs. Utah State because of transfer rules ... he previously played at Utah Valley State College and Oregon State ... he is a hard-nosed player who can create problems for opponents with his ability to run the floor and post up ... he is primarily a power forward but could also play at center ... provides experience and depth to Cougar front line ... his brother Shane played for BYU and brother Travis currently plays in the NBA after a college career at Connecticut.

(Kentucky): Transferred from Kentucky last year ... played nine games including one start ... averaged 1.7 points and 2.2 rebounds in 8.8 minutes per game ... (Utah Valley State College): played his sophomore year at UVSC where he averaged 14.5 points and 8.9 rebounds ... led UVSC to a 24-8 record ... led the Scenic West Athletic Conference in rebounding while playing in all 32 games, shooting 60.4 percent from the field and 60.9 percent from the line ... had 60 assists in 32 games and 31 steals and was named the UVSC Athlete of the Year ... was coached by Jeff Reinert ... (Oregon State): played his freshman year at Oregon State and appeared in 24 games with nine starts ... averaged 15.3 minutes, 3.0 points and 3.2 rebounds per game ... had highs of nine points against Portland in his first collegiate game and 10 rebounds versus Arizona State ... after the Beavers finished the year 7-20, he served an LDS Church mission in Cleveland, Ohio, before transferring to UVSC.
