Before BYU

Named honorable mention Gatorade Utah Player of the Year ... an all-state and all-region selection ... named to the Salt Lake Tribune 4A All-State team ... recorded 66 receptions for 1,282 yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior ... tallied 1,675 all-purpose yards ... also registered five interceptions as a defensive back ... grabbed four touchdown passes against Taylorsville High School as a senior, ranking as the best single-game performance in the state during the 1998 season ... helped pace Bonneville's Lakers to a 4A championship appearance ... regarded as one of the top-five recruits in the state of Utah ... won the state 4A 100-meter title as a junior and senior at Bonneville High School ... ranked as the state's No. 2 sprinter ... a member of the National Honor Society and a four-year honor roll student at Bonneville High School.
