Parents are Dennis and Nancy...served an LDS mission in Tokyo, Japan, from 1989-91...married Angela Draper in July, 1992...Eagle scout...recruited by Air Force, Tulane, Nebraska and Stanford...did a spring internship with U.S. Senator Bob Bennett (R) in 1993...majoring in history teaching and minoring in Japanese...translated for the coaches when a Japanese team visited campus in the spring of 1994.

Before BYU

Was an all-state selection at Skyline High...earned letters in basketball and baseball...graduated with honors and was a member of the National Honors Society...coached by Roger DuPaix (BYU).

Other College

Played two years at Ricks College...was team captain and all-conference selection.

1992 | Redshirt Year

Participated in spring drills and redshirted.

1993 | Junior Year

Started against New Mexico and Hawai'i...selected as GTE/CoSida Academic All-District 8 and Academic All-WAC...had 10 tackles at New Mexico.
