Parents are Joseph and Isabell...married Adrienne Butler...pre-med major.

Before BYU

Besides being an outstanding football player, excelled in jumps and hurdles at Reno High...was fourth in state in triple...in football caught 56 passes and had 12 T receptions as a wide receiver...was all-state first-team selection...coached by Gene Scattini (San Jose State).

1978 | Freshman Year

Saw plenty of action in all of the jayvee games...had 33 receptions for 473 yards and three TDs...in three jayvee games had over 100 yards in pass receiving...longest receptions were 40 and 52 yards...traveled some with the varsity and had on reception with the varsity for 17 yards.

1979 | Sophomore Year

Scored BYU's first touchdown against Texas A&M...against Texas A&M caught three passes for 49 yards...caught six passes for 115 yards against Colorado State...caught the first of three TD passes in the first quarter blitz against San Diego State...named receiver of the week against New Mexico...academic All-WAC.

1980 | Junior Year

Academic All-WAC...had several big receiving games...caught two touchdown passes and had 96 yards receiving on three receptions at Wisconsin...made eight receptions for 99 yards and scored a TD against Wyoming...caught six passes for 162 yards and one touchdown against North Texas State.
