Parents are Wilford and Valerie...recruited by New Mexico, Arizona and Northern Arizona in football and Pepperdine and Wichita State in basketball...served a two-yard mission for the LDS church to Tallahassee, Florida...majoring in business administration.

Before BYU

At Mesa High he was all-state in basketball and football, as well as being named MVP his senior year by his team...won the Powers Plaque for athletic excellence and sportsmanship and won most outstanding lineman his senior year...coached by Reed Peterson (ASU)...his team lost out in a division three-way tie breaker.

Redshirted following freshman season.

Converted from offensive to defensive tackle following season.
