Doug was able to make the 1:30 flight for Honolulu ... served an LDS Church mission to Philadelphia, Pa., an Eagle Scout...likes skiing and outdoor activities...recruited by Utah, Dartmouth, Princeton, Brown, Kansas St., and Weber St., ...majoring in exercise physiology/pre-medicine.

Before BYU

Lettered in football, basketball, track and soccer at Timpview High...graduated No. 1 in his class...1991 4-A MVP...Bobby Dodd outstanding back in the state award... USA Today Player of the Year for Utah...first-team consensus all-state...first team captain...all-state and all-region in basketball...track team took state as a freshman...all-state in soccer...academic all-state in football, basketball and soccer...coached by Chad Van Orden (Snow).

Participated in spring drills...played vs. UTEP and Rice.

1997 | Sophomore Year

Academic All-WAC...Cougar Club Scholar-Athlete...saw action as a nickel-back and on special teams.

1998 | Junior Year

Started at left corner in the Hawai'i game in place of an injured Brian Gray ... Had two solo tackles at Hawai'i ... Recorded two unassisted tackles at UTEP ... Picked up a season-high three tackles in the Liberty Bowl (vs. Tulane).

1999 | Senior Year

Participated in spring drills...appeared in nine games for BYU at cornerback...recorded a season-high four solo tackles at New Mexico...finished the season with seven tackles.
