Born in Logan, Utah ... parents are Scott and Michele Watterson ... one of five children ... an Eagle Scout ... served a Church mission to Taipei, Taiwan (2000-2002) ... communicates fluently in Chinese ... father, Scott, is currently serving in Taiwan as a mission president (2004-2007) ... father played football at Snow JC ... brother, Mark, signed to play football at Utah State ... plays the piano and composes his own music ... recruited by Utah State, Miami (Ohio), Utah, Weber State, Southern Utah, and University of Chicago.

Before BYU

A three-year letterwinner at Mountain Crest HS ... an all-region, and all-Cache Valley selection ... earned honorable mention all-state honors ... a National Grid Iron Great ... rushed for just under 1,000 yards as a junior ... under a different offense as a senior, ran for over 700 yards ... also participated in wrestling, soccer, baseball and track ... an honor roll student throughout high school.
