High School - Played his prep ball and wrestled at nearby Lehi High ... won four letteres as tackle.

1974 | Freshman Year

As as heavyweight wrestler, he posted a 28-12 overall record (14 falls) and was third in WAC championships ... the following year he won WAC heavyweight title.

1975 | Sophomore Year

Prior to the start of the season, he was set to start at right tackle but suffered a serious head injury before the season started ... had operation and was able to recover successfully.

1976 | Junior Year

Behind Bill Rice at left tackle ... WAC heavyweight wrestling champ ... got two sacks against San Diego State ... sacked Utah's Pat Degnan for 10-yards ... 41 defensive points for the year.
