Born in Phoenix... parents are John and JoLynn...has five sisters and three brothers...enjoys fly-fishing and camping...coached by Bill Mitton, football letterman at BYU in 1964-65...recruited by Arizona State, New Mexico, Stanford and Washington.
Before BYU
First team All-Metro selection his sophomore, junior and senior years at Trevor Browne HS (5A)...Second Team All-State as a junior...First Team All-State as a senior...voted team Offensive MVP his senior year...played in the North/South Arizona All-Star game as a senior...took second place at 2000 State Championships in the shot put...earned Second Team All-State honors in track & field.
