Born 10/3/70 in San Jose, California...parents are Clark and Cheryl...served an LDS Church mission to South Africa, from 1989-91...brother, Duane, played for BYU in late 80s...graduated from Provo High...married Gale Oborn, captain of BYU's women's volleyball team, in January, 1995...she was selected MVP of the 1996 WAC Volleyball Championships...completed undergraduate degree in English as a junior and graduated with a master's of public administration.

1992 | Redshirt Year
Came in as a tight end candidate and redshirted...moved to linebacker and offensive line.
1993 | Freshman Year
Moved up to second unit as offensive tackle during drills...saw lots of playing time at New Mexico when Eli Herring was injured.
1994 | Sophomore Year
Broke into the starting lineup against New Mexico and started every game thereafter.
1995 | Junior Year
ESPN Sega Student-Athlete...Academic All-Western Athletic Conference.
1996 | Senior Year
Cotton Bowl Scholar-Athlete...All-WAC by the Houston Chronicle (coordinators)...second team All-WAC by the coaches...Academic All-WAC...selected as the Academic Achievement Award winner by the BYU coaches...coaches' player of the game vs. Texas A&M for 98% pass blocking and 95% run blocking...same honor vs. Arkansas State, Washington and UNLV.
