Before BYU

A three-year letterman in football, basketball and track at Sealy HS ... First team all-state wide receiver in 1994 ... Named Second Team all-state tailback in 1995 ... Selected First team all-state as a punt returner and tailback in 1996 ... Returned eight punts for touchdowns over his junior and senior seasons ... Led Sealy HS to three straight state championships ... Ran for over 1,900 yards as a senior, including a 56-yard run during the championship game.

Ranked as the Cougars' third leading rusher with 117 yards, averaging 6.2 yards per carry ... Played in all 11 games as a freshman ...
