Born 1/18/71 in Salt Lake City...parents are Daniel and Diane...Eagle Scout...served a mission in Baguio, Philippines...married Rebekah Higginson in June 1993...recruited by Idaho State, Idaho, Wyoming and Boise State...majoring in conservation biology.
Before BYU
Graduated from Centennial High with a 3.89 GPA...all-state offensive lineman...team won the state championship in football and wrestling...heavyweight state champ...Bobby Dodd Award as lineman of the year...also lettered in track...coached by Greg Drake.
1989 | Freshman Year
Played special teams and traveled with the varsity.
1992 | Sophomore Year
Started and played impressively in nine games after an injury to Eli Herring...made a block that opened the way for Kalin Hall's 67-yard touchdown run vs. San Diego State.
1993 | Junior Year
Was Academic All-WAC...had a broken thumb in two-a-days and played the first part of the season with a cast...started all 12 games at right guard...selected by the coaching staff as offensive lineman of the game against Colorado State.
1994 | Senior Year
Competed at the WAC Indoor Track Championships in the 35-pound weight, but did not place...had a season best toss of 54-4.
