Before BYU

Won eight letters in three sports at Neff High ... was all-league and All-CIF as an offensive tackle ... coached by Stan Thomas (Whittier).

1976 | Freshman Year

Answered the call to fill bakcup varsity role when Lance Reynolds was hurt ... went to the Tangerine Bowl.

1978 | Sophomore Year

Switched from offensive to defensive line during redshirt year ... saw action in six varsity games ... best outings were against Colorado State with three unassisted tackles, a sack and a tackle for a loss and five tackles against Hawai`i.

1979 | Junior Year

Started every game until knee injury during the Utah game, which resulted in two operations ... consequently didn't start against San Diego State and Indiana in the Holiday Bowl ... against Colorado State he had nine tackles ... against Hawai`i he had eight tackles, one block and two hurries.

1980 | Senior Year

Recorded six assisted tackles, one unassisted tackle and two quarterback hurries.
