Born in Cleveland, Texas...parents are Danny and Pat Roberts...served in the Panama City Mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints...majoring in recreation management and youth leadership.

Before BYU

Two-time state champion in the discus at Shepherd High in Shepherd, Texas...shot put state champion...ranked 1st in the nation in high school boy's discus in 1995.

1996 | Freshman Year

Track and Field Indoor WAC Champion

1999 | Sophomore Year

Ranked No. 1 in the nation for the indoor shot put ... earned All-America honors with a sixth place finish in the shot at the NCAA Indoor Championships (61'6.75").

2000 | Junior Year

Earned his second All-America citation with a fourth-place finish in the shot with a toss of 63'6.25" at the NCAA Indoor Championships ... became a three-time All-America with a fourth place finish in the shot put (65'11") at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

2001 | Senior Year

Saw limited action, playing in 6-of-13 regular-season games for the Cougars...assisted in two tackles on the season...credited with a 15-yard kick return...a member of the 2001 MWC Championship team...helped BYU to a 12-2 record during the season, including a streak of 12 straight wins...placed seventh in the shot put at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
