Born in La Jolla, Calif.,...parents are Paul and Anita Barker...served an LDS Church mission to New Jersey...recruited by Colorado, Colorado St., San Diego St., and USC...majoring in construction management.

Before BYU

Was a wide receiver and cornerback at San Dieguito High in Encinitas, Calif.,...lettered twice in football and three times in track...had 57 receptions, 980 yards and 11 TDs...ran 10.7 in the 100 and 21.9 in the 200...ran a 4.4 forty...also ran in the 4 X 100 and 4 X 400 meters...was All-Palomar League, All-North County and All-CIF...won the Golden Helmet Award and was team MVP...coached by Tim Smith (Arizona).
