Parents are Clyde and Loretta Grimwood...was recruited by Washington State, Oregon, Las Vegas, Sonoma State, Long Beach State and Fullerton State...majoring in sociology.

Before BYU

Prepped at John F. Kennedy High...all-county in football and baseball, made both all-star teams...was a center fielder and running back and safety...MVP of the Orange County All-Star game in football...set a record for an 80-yard run from scrimmage...class president of sophomore, junior and senior classes and also most preferred man each of those years...coached John Carroll (Montana).

Other College

Played two years at Fullerton Junior College...all-conference both years...Fullerton was ranked number one all of the regular season of his sophomore year...had 17 tackles, 12 unassisted in the Potato Bowl in Bakersfield...named outstanding defensive player of the year for the team.

1990 | Junior Year

Walked on and had an unassisted tackle against Colorado State...selected as coaches' special teams player of the game against Air Force and Utah State...had two unassisted tackles against Texas A&M in the Holiday Bowl.

1991 | Senior Year

Had off-season knee surgery.
