Son of Frank and Cathy Winger ... seven brothers and two sisters ... brother, Chris Hoke, played on BYU's defensive line and now plays for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Before BYU
Played at Foothill HS for Doug Case ... team MVP his senior year ... team defensive player of thee year in 2007 ... named all-league his sophomore, junior and senior seasons ... All-CIF as a junior and senior ... 301 career tackles set a new school record ... as a senior he recorded 110 tackles, two interceptions, three fumble recoveries and one sack.
