Parents are L. Paul (teacher) and Sylvia Miller ... majored in advertising. 

Before BYU

HIgh School - Larry was a standout in both football and basketball at Bountiful High ... was offered grants by schools in both sports, but elected to go with football ... was all-state and recieved all-American recognition. 

1975 | Freshman Year

Logged time in both JV and Varisty ... picked off an interception for both teams ... in an offense vs defense game in the Spring, he intercepted a pass and carried it in for a TD, good for 53 yards.

1976 | Sophomore Year

Had pass interceptions in at San Diego State and two steals against Arizona State ... one set up a BYU TD against ASU ... was team defensive leader against Southern Miss with 21 points ... in that game he tackled twice for losses and caused a fumble ... caused another fumble and blocked a kick against Utah State ... had four of the team's 22 interceptions.

1977 | Junior Year

Number five scorer in the defensive stax ... led team with 31 unassisted tackles ... best game was against Utah with 11 tackles and a pass interception ... intercepted another pass at UTEP and rompe for a 33-yard TD.
