Parents are John and Susan Deans... fourth child in family to attend BYU... served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to Buenos Aires, Argentina... recruited by Nebraska, Illinois, Air Force, Iowa State and Cornell... married to Emily Deans, the current Olympic Sports Marketing Director at BYU.


In 2002: Expected to play a major role in the BYU offense... had seven carries for 45 yards in the Blue/White scrimmage... registered a game-high two touchdowns.

Before BYU

Three-year letterwinner at Cherry Creek High School... played on two state championship teams... named All-Centennial League... a Denver Post Blue Chip player... carried the ball for more than 1,800 yards... led 1996 team to a 14-0 record... also lettered in track, competing in 100m, shot put, and discus.
