Before BYU

High School - An honor student at George Washington High...lettered in football and track...named all-city offensive and defensive lineman...honorable mention All-Northern California...all-city in shot put...coached by James Ruane (San Francisco).

1985 | Freshman Year

Played on the junior varsity...won the team's two-a-day distance run.

1986 | Sophomore Year

Saw action on special teams and as a backup...recovered a fumble on a kickoff against Utah State...registered three unassisted tackles and had one sack.

1987 | Redshirt Year


1988 | Junior Year

Played behing Duane to start against TCU and Hawai'i, credited with stopping Hawai'i's Heikoti Fakava on cruicial two-point attempt...had 24 tackles, three for losses...recovered two fumbles (including returning a blocked punt at Miami) and had two sacks.
