Before BYU

Won letters in football and track, and was first team all-league...coached by Allie Schaff...team was league champs.

Other College

Attended Saddleback JC in Mission Viejo, Calif. in 1979-80...was first team all-conference twice, South Mission Conference player of the year (1980)...all-state and All-American...in '79 he caught 51 passes for 933 yards and was a JC Gridwire All-American...in '80 he caught 38 passes for 678 yards.

1981 | Redshirt Year

Mandatory redshirt following transfer...transferred to BYU in 1981 after playing spring ball at Illinois...was also sought after by Missouri, Colorado, Oklahoma, Iowa, Minnesota and San Diego State.

1982 | Junior Year

Had a 32-yard TD reception at New Mexico and a 35-yard TD catch at Utah State...caught two passes for 44 yards in the Holiday Bowl of '82...alternated as a starting wide receiver for most of the year.
