Parents are Lee and JoAnn...married Tiffany Frye in July, 1989...recruited by Colorado, Oklahoma State, Stanford, Arizona and Nebraska...majoring in sociology...will attend graduate school in fall of 1990 in the MBA program...graduated in August 1990 with his bachelor's.

Before BYU

Prepped at Heritage High, where he was all-state in football and played in the state's post-season all-star game...played offensive and defensive tackle...lettered twice in football and basketball and once in track...coached by Bernie McCall (Colorado).

1987 | Redshirt Year

Redshirted and had shoulder surgery after transferring from Colorado, where he played a couple of games with the varsity as a freshman in 1986.

1988 | Sophomore Year

Started five games at defensive end...had 39 tackles, five for losses...led team with 11.5 hurries...deflected three passes.

1989 | Junior Year

Missed spring practice with back problem...was second unit with the varsity...had a sack against Wyoming and two tackles for losses against Utah State...Academic All-WAC.
