Parents are Donald and Frances...served an LDS mission in Hartford, Connecticut...recruited by Boise State, Idaho State, Air Force and Oregon State...majoring in marketing.

Before BYU

All-state as a linebacker ('80) and defensive end ('79)...all-conference and honorable mention all-state as a quarterback ('80)...named offensive and defensive player of the year at Shelley High...earned all-state honors twice in basketball and lettered four times in track...member of the National Honors Society and graduated seventh in his class.

1981 | Freshman Year

Played jayvee ball.

1984 | Redshirt Year


1985 | Sophomore Year

Played some as a backup linebacker...had two pass deflections...special teams player of the week vs. Wyoming.

1986 | Junior Year

Season-long starter for the Cougars...linebacker of the game against New Mexico and Temple...ABC defensive player of the game and Wilson Diamond player of the game vs. Air Force...GTE Academic All-District selection...first team WAC All-Academic.
