Parents are Frank and ReNae...has served three years in the Marine Reserves and is a Corporal E4...recruited by Illinois, Purdue, Miami (Fla.) and Ohio State...majoring in psychology. 

Before BYU

Prepped at Monte Vista High, where he lettered in track and won two Foothill Conference championships...a two-time conference champion in the 400 intermediate hurdles and was conference champion in the 110 hurdles.

Other College

A two-time All-American at Grossmont Junior College (El Cajon, California)...twice named All-California...caught 41 passes for 1,148 yards and 14 TD's...ranks second in the junior colleges for career receiving yards (2,358) and TD passes (28)...coached by Jim Symington (San Diego State).

1986 | Junior Year

Started three games...caught eight passes including a 37-yard TD reception against Washington...long reception of 47 yards set up the winning score against New Mexico.
