Real name is Rockne...parents are Kenneth and Jeneane...married Jamie Dempze in January, 1990...younger brother T.D. is a running back for BYU, but is now on a church mission...recruited by UCLA, Nebraska, Michigan, Michigan State, Wisconsin and Oklahoma...majoring in communications with a minor in business.

Before BYU

Earned 10 letters at Lincoln High...state champion wrestler as a junior and senior...holds state record for pins (97) and most wins...pinned every opponent as a senior...holds school record in high hurdles...state player of the year in football...first-team Bally All-American...Dial National High School Athlete of the Year finalist...Gatorade Circle of Champions Player of the Year in Wisconsin...played quarterback as a junior...coached by his father.

1988 | Freshman Year

Saw a lot of playing time due to injuries...had 21 tackles and a pass interception.

1989 | Sophomore Year

Started 10 games but injured his knee in the fifth game of the season against Wyoming...had his knee scoped and returned by the Oregon game...had 15 tackles against Air Force.

1990 | Junior Year

Second team All-WAC...had eight tackles, two quarterback hurries and a sack against Miami..11 tackles and two quarterback hurries at Oregon...had an interception, eight tackles and a quarterback hurry against Colorado State...against utah he had eight assisted tackles, caused and recovered a fumble and had a quarterback hurry...had eight tackles and three quarterback hurries against Utah State...selected as coaches' player of the game against San Diego State, Oregon and Utah.

1991 | Senior Year

Had off-season shoulder surgery.
