Before BYU

High School - Played football at Radford High, where his father was the coach ... a total of 12 letters (basketball and track) ... was a good defensive back. 

1975 | Freshman Year

Spent most of his time with the JV team ... picked off threee interceptions ... played well in Spring game, taking two interceptions for a total of 37 yards.

1976 | Sophomore Year

10 assisted tackles, 9 unassisted ... was second unit varsity ... leading defensive scorer of the secondary.

1977 | Junior Year

 

Had 44 assisted tackles and 23 unassisted tackles for the season ... had seven unassisted tackles at Oregon State ... seven tackles at Wyoming ... at UTEP he returned one ofhis two pass interceptions for a 33-yard TD.
