Before BYU

Lettered in football, basketball and track at West Valley High...both all-league and all-state offense and defense in football...was co-Frontier League lineman of the year along with Outland Trophy winner Steve Emtman...featured in Who's Who in High School Football...coached by Steve Kent (Eastern Washington).

1988 | Freshman Year

Played with the junior varsity.

1991 | Redshirt Year


1992 | Sophomore Year

Participated in spring drills where he played both tackle and guard...moved to starting unit in second half vs. UCLA because of Eli Herring injury...was second unit behind Evan Pilgrim at right guard through remainder of season...started on special teams.

1993 | Junior Year

Started at Colorado State when Mike Empey was out with knee surgery...substituted when Evan Pilgrim was hurt at San Diego...started Utah and UTEP games.
