Before BYU

Attended Calipatriaa High and won letters in football, basketball and track...in football he was two-time All-CIF, all-conference and all-league MVP...coached by Edgar Self, the team was CIF champions.

1980 | Freshman Year

Played in all of the jayvee games, but saw some brief varsity action.

1981 | Sophomore Year

Started every game...led the WAC in scoring at 8.0 ppg...shares school scoring record for most point in a season (96)...was 10th in WAC receiving at 2.7 cpg...among his top performances were a 64-yard pass play at Colorado...caught 11 passes for 95 yards at two touchdowns vs. the Air Force Academy...scored three TDs against UNLV and two TDs vs. Utah...was second team All-WAC and was coaches' player of the game against Air Force, Utah State and Wyoming.

1982 | Junior Year

Led the Cougars in rushing vs. UNLV with 67 net yards...was back of the game against UNLV and the Air Force Academy...an arthroscopy after the UNLV game slowed his progress during the season.
