Before BYU

Was team captain as a junior and senior and earned four varsity letters in swimming at Newark Memorial High School ... was Pacific Swimming's outstanding swimmer in 1992 ... national finalist in the 200 IM and the 400 IM as a junior ... six-time Mission Volley Athletic League champion ... team won MVAL championship in 1992 ... selected for Olympic training center.

1993-1994 | Freshman Year

Placed fourth in the 400 IM, seventh in the 200 fly and ninth in the 500 free at the 1994 WAC Championships ... swam on the third-place 800 free relay at WACC (1994) ...

1994-1995 | Sophomore Year

Placed third in the 400 IM and the 800 free relay, fifth in the 200 fly at the 1995 WAC Championships ... men's team captain.

1995-1996 | Junior Year

Men's team captain ... All-WAC athlete in the 200 IM, 400 IM and 200 fly.

1998-1999 | Senior Year

Tallied eight wins during the season ... recorded top times for BYU during the 98-99 season including 1:50.64 in the 200 IM, gaining him first place on the team ... he also received first place on the team for his time of 4:02.23 in the 400 IM.
