Majoring in civil engineering ... parents are Dale and Vicky Porter ... served an LDS Church mission to New York City.

Before BYU

Graduated in the top two percent of his class at Mesa High School ... 1993 and 1994 Arizona State Diving Champion ... 1994 prep diving All-America ... also lettered in track ... was the top diver at Mesa High School for four years ... competed in the pole vault.

1994-1995 | Freshman Year

Competed for the Cougars as a freshman before going on an LDS mission to New York City.

1997-1998 | Sophomore Year

Qualified for summer U.S. National Diving Senior Championships on 1M ... 2nd at senior zone.

1998-1999 | Junior Year

Won 3M title at WAC Championships.

1999-2000 | Senior Year

Named Mountain West Conference Diver of the Year ... at Zone E Champs, he placed second int he 1-meter and third in the 3-meter which qualified him for the NCAA Championships ... at the NCAA Champs he finished 30th in the 1-meter and 32nd in the 3-meter ... held top places for BYU during the 99-00 season including second place in the 1-meter with a score of 503.30 and first place in the 3-meter 502.05.
