A real workhorse on the team and excellent swimmer ... as a freshman he won three WAC Championships: 500 free (4:42.2), 400 IM (4:17.84) and the 1650 free (16:29.3) a full 10 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher ... as a sophomore at the conference meet he broke his own 500 free mark (4:40.96), his own 1650 free mark (16:20.42) and his own 400 IM mark (4:16.2) ... was All-State at Provo High for three years.
