Before BYU

Prepped at Johansen High...coached by Roni and Gil Mejia at the Lescisin Gymnastics Academy in Modesto, California ... 1993 Level 9 state and regional all-around champion and 16th-place finisher at Level 9 nationals ... represented Region I at the 1993 and 1995 nationals ... finished sixth in all-around at the 1993 USAIGC nationals ... in 1994 won the California state Level 10 all-around championship and the Bear Country Invitational and named most improved athlete in club ... had recorded scores of 9.6 or better at every USGF level and had a high all-around score of 37.7.

1996 | Freshman Year

a top bars worker for the Cougars ... season best of 9.85 ... was BYU's high scorer (9.8) on bars at the NCAA championship ... was also a top vaulter for BYU before injuries limited her to bars

1997 | Sophomore Year

one of the Cougars' best on bars ... tied career-best with a 9.85 ... scored 9.7 or better in all but one meet ... also competed beam (best of 9.725) until injuries forced her out of the beam lineup
