Parents are George and Janice Curtis ... she is the sixth of eight children, with two brothers and five sisters ... father is the Head Athletic Trainer at BYU.

Before BYU

CLUB: Played for the Players Volleyball Club for two years as a teammate of fellow incoming BYU freshman Lauren Richards.
HIGH SCHOOL: Krystal was defensive all-region as a senior and honorable mention all-region as a junior at Timpanogos High School in Orem, Utah, where she was a teammate of fellow incoming freshman Lauren Richards ... she helped her team to the 5A state title as a junior and runner-up finish as a senior ... a three sport athlete, she also played three years of softball and three years of basketball, earning all-region honors in softball as a left fielder and catcher while playing point guard on the basketball team ... she was academic all-region as a senior with a 3.8 GPA ... coached in volleyball by Angie Roberts.


Stopped playing competitive volleyball after redshirting the 2001 campaign because of injury.
