BYU Launches CougarTV with CSTV Partnership

Thanks to a partnership with College Sports Television (CSTV), Cougar fans now have the opportunity to watch LIVE BYU athletic events online.

Beginning Saturday, Dec. 17, BYU and CSTV All-Access will broadcast more than 85 live home events via the Internet. The first scheduled broadcast is a women's basketball game Saturday versus UVSC at 3 p.m. (MDT)

In addition to women's basketball, BYU will broadcast home events during the 2005-06 season for baseball, softball, gymnastics and men's volleyball.

"We are excited about this new opportunity for our fans," said BYU Director of Athletics Tom Holmoe. "BYU enjoys a large fan base all over the world. CougarTV will allow our fans to follow several of our athletic teams and watch dozens of live events."

CougarTV is a pay-per-view service that can be purchased on a monthly or yearly basis. CSTV is currently offering a one-month trial for $6.95, or fans can purchase the rest of the 2005-06 season for just $39.95.

In addition to live and on-demand games, CougarTV includes video highlights, press conferences and video features. All live events are also archived for viewing at a later date.

"We've been developing this product for several months," said Duff Tittle, BYU Associate AD for Communications. "CSTV has been great to work with. They offer a tremendous service. CSTV is on the cutting edge of web technology and we are excited about our partnership."

Beginning fall 2006, CSTV will become BYU's national broadcast partner, which will allow CougarTV to provide additional live athletic events including football and men's basketball. The 2006-07 CougarTV schedule will feature more than 150 home events in sports like soccer, volleyball, baseball, basketball, gymnastics and football.
