Phase I 89,100 square feet

Phase II 62,525 square feet (three levels)


Immediately west of current football practice fields and the Smith Fieldhouse

Phase I

Phase I is an indoor practice area, which will be approximately 140 yards long by 70 yards wide. Playing surface is synthetic turf similar to the turf being installed on the practice fields. Teams using the facility will include football, soccer, baseball, softball and golf.

80 feet in the middle

65 feet at the ends

Phase II

Phase II includes an Athletic Hall of Fame and foyer, memorabilia store, athletic administration offices, academic student-athlete center, Cougar Club & Varsity Club offices, football coaches offices, video facilities, strength and conditioning center, football locker rooms and equipment area, nutrition center, meeting and conference rooms, and storage areas.

Approximate Cost

Phase I $20 million (includes maintenance endowment)

Phase II $38 million (includes maintenance endowment)

(Maintenance endowment accounts for approximately 35 percent of project cost)


Construction will not begin until funding for Phase I is complete. Phase II will begin as soon as construction plans and funding are in place.
