Trent Plaisted--Men's Basketball--Junior--San Antonio, Texas
Junior forward/center Trent Plaisted averaged 16.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, 3.0 blocks and 2.0 assists in BYU's two games last week while shooting 56.5 percent from the floor. The 6-foot-11 native of San Antonio, Texas, led the Cougars in scoring, rebounding and blocks for the week as the Cougars defeated Weber State 72-57 and suffered a 68-61 defeat to No. 9 Michigan State.
Plaisted pulled down a game-high 15 rebounds against Weber State while scoring 14 points for his third double-double outing of the season. He was a force defensively, rejecting a season-high five blocks in addition to 12 defensive rebounds. He added two assists for the Cougars on the offensive end of the floor. He scored a game-high 19 points on 8-of-14 shooting against No. 9 Michigan State while adding a team-best eight rebounds with two assists and one block. He scored 12 points in the first half to help BYU build a 10-point halftime advantage over the Spartans. Plaisted has averaged 21.3 points and 12.3 rebounds in BYU's three games this year against top-10 teams.
