Top Performers of the Week: October 1 - October 6

The Top Performers of the Week feature highlights the top athletes of each sport currently in play. Check back each week to see which athletes are standing out in Cougar sports.

Chelsea Goodman - Women's Volleyball - Senior - Mesa, Ariz.

Cougar outside hitter Chelsea Goodman recorded back-to-back double-doubles on the weekend, improving her career total to 45, just two off the Mountain West Conference record. In BYU?s sweep of TCU on Friday, she posted a match-high 18 kills to go along with 17 digs while tallying season highs of three aces and .486 hitting. She helped set the tone of the match early with eight kills in game one. She followed that performance up with 16 kills and 12 digs against New Mexico while totaling two aces. For the week, she averaged 4.86 kills, 4.14 digs and 0.71 aces per game on .377 hitting. On the season, Goodman leads the team in kills with 4.46 per game while ranking among the top 10 in the Mountain West Conference in that category.

Katie Larkin - Soccer - Junior - Draper, Utah

Larkin started both games last week and scored one goal in each game on only three total shots. In the 2-1 win over Utah State, she scored the game-winner and assisted on the first goal. At Arizona, Larkin capitalized on a penalty kick to give the Cougars a 1-0 victory. Larkin leads the MWC in game-winning goals with nine.
