Live from Legends Grille on BYU campus, head coach Dave Rose started his radio show talking about how the team is reacting to losing twice last week in back-to-back games, what they're doing to get back their spirit and where the team goes from here. The Cougars fell on the road to San Diego and at home to San Francisco.
"I think the guys are a little bit down and disappointed. We'll have a long week to get prepared for Saturday's game so that's good. These guys are tough and we'll bounce back, they'll find their spirit. A lot of things we're having issues with our coaching things - effort is not lacking in this team. We, as coaches, just need to adjust."
As the team prepares for their final five games, coach Rose said the team is going to try and use their long weeks to get ready to take on some of the best in the West Coast Conference.
"Looking at our schedule, we know things can change pretty quick if we just get back in this. We're still in a good place. It'll be our challenge to get the guys we rely on some help in the next couple games."
Later in the show, coach Rose mentioned briefly the team's chances for postseason action and what they need to do to get back in it.
"I think we're in a tough situation if we don't win that conference tournament, honestly. We'll be looking to win that tournament but, like every year, it's a challenge. The team that's leading this league though is so good. There's a lot of basketball to still play."
Matt Carlino joined the show towards the end to talk about how he thinks the team is doing and his experience with BYU so far . Carlino also answered some fan questions before he left.
Coach Rose finished the show talking about the WCC and by answering some questions from fans.
