Thursday's Hero - Devin Jensen

Devin Jensen was killed in a car accident following the BYU-Utah game just two weeks ago. He and his sister were taking a friend home after watching the game at their house, when they lost control of the car.

The second oldest of six children, Devin was a junior at Bear River high School where he was a letter-winner on the football team. He was very involved in student government and earned his Eagle Scout award.

Devin and his family attended the New Mexico game earlier this season. He enjoyed standing in the tunnel pregame, watching the team run out onto the field.

Thursday's Hero - Trey Larson

The third-oldest child in his family, Trey was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in January of this year. He was admitted to Primary Children’s Medical Center where he underwent surgeries for port placement in his chests, spinal taps, rounds of chemotherapy and blood transfusions.

Brigham was born with down syndrome and with a hole in his heart, keeping him in the hospital for the first three months of his life. Despite a difficult beginning, Brigham has fought his entire life to never let anything stand between him and his dreams.

Colorado State Pregame Fireside

Sophomore inside linebacker Brandon Ogletree was the first speaker of the night. He shared an experience he had while serving in the Chile Concepcion South Mission.

Originally from Wisconsin, 27-year-old Sam Harrison is a huge BYU football fan. Married for five years, he and his wife have a two-and-a-half year-old son.

UNLV Pregame Fireside

The traditional pregame fireside was a little different this week as the team visited the Slate Canyon Youth Detention Center. The format was the same, with talks by tight ends Mike Muehlmann and Marcus Mathews, and head coach Mendenhall.

Thursday's Hero - Mark Farnsworth

Born in Emmett, Idaho, Mark has always been a very independent, strong-willed individual, evident as he learned to walk by 7-1/2 months. When he was five he began having seizures and was diagnosed with epilepsy.

Thursday's Hero - Davey Smith

Davey was left paralyzed after a shotgun accident in December 1984. He spent three months in Primary Childrens’ Hospital in critical condition.

Eight Cougars Named Phil Steele Midseason All-MWC

PROVO, Utah (Oct. 20, 2010) - Eight members of the BYU football team were named to an All-MWC team by Phil Steele.

Second team honorees include junior JJ Di Luigi at running back, junior Bryan Kariya at fullback and junior Matt Reynolds as an offensive tackle. Defensive second-teamers were junior linebacker Jordan Pendleton and senior safety Andrew Rich.

On the All-MWC third team were two BYU offensive linemen, senior Jason Speredon and sophomore Braden Hansen along with senior placekicker Mitch Payne.

The Cougars, currently 1-2 in the Mountain West and 2-5 overall, host Wyoming at 12 p.m. MT on Saturday at LaVell Edwards Stadium.
