Thirty three members of the team flew out tonight via New York for Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic.  We will be getting periodic updates throughout the coming week courtesy of Jennifer Funkhouser who works in the BYU Athletic Department's NCAA Compliance Office.  She is making the trip.

For BYU Coach Vance Law, this is his fourth trip to the Dominican Republic, having played off-seasons for two of his Major League years there.

Courtesy of Sam LeBeau, who is the local tour director for the Cougars while in the Dominican Republic, here are directions to each of the venues where BYU will be playing.

Monday vs. YANKEES: Texas and Yankees are both in Boca Chica.  Take the Autopista from Santo Domingo to Boca Chica.  Drive past the Shell Gas Station and the BHD Bank.  About 1/2 mile past the gas station, take the ramp exit to the right.  At the top of the ramp, turn left and go across the bridge over the Autopista.  Continue for about a mile and the Yankees complex is on the right.  It is before the cemetery.  It is not marked but has a gray and white painted entrance.  After turning right, you go about 1/2 mile down a gravel road to enter the complex.

Tuesday vs. RANGERS: Follow the same direction as the Yankees, but continue past the Grey/White, but do not turn right at the Grey and White Yankees entrance.  Instead, continue past the cemetery and go another 1/2 mile.  You will see the Florida Marlins Complex on the right.  Turn into the Marlins’ complex.  The Texas Complex is at the back of the Marlins complex

Thursday vs. RED SOX: An easy way from Santo Domingo is to take the Autopista to the new highway (Samana exit) and take it north to the San Isidro exit and go east. At that intersection, there is a huge warehouse on the SE corner. The Red Sox Academy is a mile or two on the right. The Royals Academy would be another mile after that and turn left at the Colmado Pirula (this is a dirt road). Go about a mile until you come to the first 4-way intersection (another dirt road) and take a left. go 1/2 mile to the academy.

Friday vs. ROYALS: An easy way from Santo Domingo is to take the Autopista to the new highway (Samana exit) and take it north to the San Isidro exit and go east.
