Yesterday the Cougars practiced in the Barclays Center practice gym and today had a shoot around on the playing floor to get ready for tonight's game against Florida State at 7 p.m. EST. The Barclays opened this fall and is pretty incredible. One of the highlights so far was riding in a bus elevator down into the building and coming out 50 feet from where the games will be played.

Hope Lodge tour in New York

Before practice today, BYU basketball toured the Hope Lodge in Manhattan. Hope Lodges are run by the American Cancer Society and offer cancer patients and their caregivers a free, temporary place to stay when their best hope for effective treatment may be in another city. There are 31 Hope Lodges in the United States.

See the video below for more information about the mission of a Hope Lodge and the facility that is planned to be built in Salt Lake City. BYU coach Dave Rose's wife Cheryl Rose is featured in the video discussing her sister Janet DeMarco, who lost her battle with breast cancer last year. Visit hopelodgeutah.org to find out how you can support the efforts of the American Cancer Society and bring a Hope Lodge to Salt Lake City.

Dave Rose was interviewed by truTV following the tour. See that interview and a feature on Rose during truTV's coveraage of the Acura Coaches vs. Cancer Classic on Friday and Saturday. The Cougars face Florida State on Friday at 7 p.m. ET.
