In the KSL 5 TV studios, BYU head coach Dave Rose kicked off his weekly Coach’s Show with a recap of the team’s second-straight two-win week this season and their 4-0 start in West Coast Conference play.
“It was a great week. I thought our guys were really prepared – it felt similar to the week before, as far as the teams we played and it was nice we were able to come away with two wins.”
The Cougars defeated the Waves at home 76-51, and on the road against Santa Clara 82-64. Tyler Haws led the team with 24 points in both wins and has now scored 20 or more points in five-straight games.
Later in the show Coach Rose highlighted the team’s defensive efforts in the last few games and how the team is working on its defense to help augment the offense.
To finish the show, Rose previewed the upcoming week with games on Wednesday and Saturday, and talked about how the rest of the West Coast Conference is shaping up.
“It’s nice to be at the top of the standings with our 4-0 record. We’ve had some great wins and are looking forward to the rest of the schedule.”

BYU takes on Santa Clara at the Leavey Event Center today at 2:30 p.m. MST in the WCC Game of the Week. The game will be televised on Time Warner Cable Sports, Root Sports Rocky Mountain and Root Sports Northwest. Tune in for the pregame show at 2 p.m. MST.
TWC Sports is available to DIRECTV customers in Southern California as well as Santa Barbara and Ventura counties, Las Vegas and Hawaii on channel 691.

On his weekly KSL radio coach's show, head coach Dave Rose started the program talking about being 2-0 to start WCC play and BYU's upcoming opponents this week in Pepperdine and Santa Clara.
Rose continued to preview the WCC, how the other teams are shaping up and how tough this conference competition is.
"There's a lot of ball to be played still but everyone's very competitive. Teams play well at home and we'll have to work for a win every game."
Matt Carlino and BYU's other point guards were highlighted as a large part of BYU's winning strategy. Rose said this week's practice the team worked hard through its point guards and they're excited for the rest of the year.
"It really goes to show the character of our players - that we can be looking for a good rotation and still finding a win. These guys are really here to win."
BYU sophomore Tyler Haws joined the show to talk about his experience of coming to BYU and answer questions from fans.
Rose finished the show also answering questions from fans.

In the KSL 5 TV studios, BYU head coach Dave Rose began his weekly coach's show with a recap of last week's action, starting West Coast Conference play with back-to-back wins. Rose gave a full recap of both games.
The Cougars defeated LMU 92-51 behind 21 points from Matt Carlino and USF 80-76 behind 22 points from Carlino and Tyler Haws.
"There's a lot of ways to win games and last week we found two very different ways to win. This is a big step forward for our team because we didn't get the big points out of our usual scorers - it's really growing our team and has been great for us."
Rose highlighted the performance of Carlino in the first two WCC games, leading the team with a combined 43 points, and talked about newcomer Bronson Kaufusi and how Brock Zylstra has stepped up in the last couple games.
BYU's rebounding scheme was talked about by Rose and how the team is using better rebounding to defeat their opponents.
And to finish the show, Rose talked about how the rest of the WCC teams are shaping up and previewed the upcoming week for BYU with WCC games against Pepperdine and Santa Clara.

Live from Legends Grille on BYU campus, BYU men's basketball head coach Dave Rose started his weekly radio show with an evaluation of where he thinks the team is at this point in the season, where they're headed and the things they've accomplished.
"I believe that we've made some really good progress and learned a lot about our team. Now we're ready for league play. Defensively, I think we're really starting to understand each other and work our zone to our advantage."
Coach Rose previewed BYU's upcoming games with LMU at home on Thursday and San Francisco on the road this Saturday while also taking some time to talk about the team's last two wins over Northern Arizona and Virginia Tech.
Sophomore Josh Sharp joined the show to talk a little about how he decided to transfer to BYU, how he thinks he's grown as a player and answer some questions from fans.
Coach Rose finished up the show answering questions from fans.
