BYU head coach Dave Rose began his weekly radio show with a recap of last week's one-game week and how the team made it work in their favor to get an 86-74 win on Saturday against Portland.
"When you get the schedule for the year you have to just make the best with it and, at first, we were worried about back-to-back bye weeks. But now it's looking like a good thing for our team to regroup. I know the guys are definitely looking forward to this week over last week - the guys love playing games. For us coaches, though, there's just so much you can accomplish on bye weeks."
Coming up this week for BYU is a game on Tuesday at home against Utah State, rescheduled from earlier in the season, and on the road on Thursday against Saint Mary's. Previewing the week coach Rose said, obviously, for Tuesday the most important thing is that player Danny Berger was able to recover and now the teams will prepare to play each other. A big thing for Thursday's game will be how well the team can regroup and practice on Wednesday with a quick turnaround to play on the road.
Later in the show, Brandon Davies joined coach Rose to talk about how the season is shaping up for him. Davies said he believes in this team and what they can do. Before leaving the show, Davies answered some fan questions.
"It's a really important time for Brandon right now - he knows how teams are playing him and he's learning to adjust. The coaches realy like his approach and what he's able to do. It's his responsibility to make plays for us."
To wrap up the show, Rose also answered questions submitted by fans.
