Live from the KSL 5 TV studios, BYU head coach Dave Rose kicked off his weekly Coach's Show with a full recap of last week's games on the road against Gonzaga and Portland.

"We really have to compete hard in this conference, and especially when we're playing a Top 10 team. We have to get a lot of guys to contribute and that was something we struggled with against Gonzaga. At Portland we responded well and executed our game plan, and it turned out much better. The pace was more like us."

BYU fell 83-63 on the road to No. 10 Gonzaga and then won 85-67 at Portland. Against the Bulldogs, coach Rose highlighted the play of Josh Sharp who finished with a career-high 14 points. Against the Pilots, coach Rose highlighted Brandon Davies' performance. Davies recorded his fifth double-double of the season on 20 points and 11 rebounds.

Coach Rose also talked about Matt Carlino and Tyler Haws's performance through West Coast Conference action, and how both of the players have excelled through the last eight games.

Later on in the show, coach Rose talked about the team's strategy with Matt Carlino using his screens and creating offensive opportunities. Rose concluded the show with a look at other teams around the WCC and BYU's upcoming schedule.
