Live from the KSL 5 TV studios, BYU head coach Dave Rose began his weekly show with a full recap of last week's action for BYU against Pepperdine and Santa Clara.
"We won two games last week - and that's great for us. We got 63 points one night and then had to get 96 the next just to get another win. It's great to see we can win in different types of games."
BYU defeated Pepperdine 63-61 on the road and won 96-79 over Santa Clara at home. Against Pepperdine, coach Rose highlighted the team's ability to be unselfish and work together to get the win. He also highlighted the play of Brandon Davies and Tyler Haws.
Against Santa Clara, coach Rose talked about how pleased he was with the second half especially and how points in transition can make or break the game. BYU outscored Santa Clara 20-4 on fastbreak points and 50-20 on points in the paint.
Later in the show, coach Rose talked about BYU's defensive strategy in keeping its opponents' offense in check.
And to finish the show, Rose gave a quick preview for what's next this season for the Cougars and how the other teams in the West Coast Conference are shaping up.
