BYU basketball assistant coach Terry Nashif was on the Tuesday night Coach's Show for head coach Dave Rose this week. Nashif started the radio show talking about BYU postponing its game with Utah State and then spent the majority of the show recaping the Cougars's game with Utah last Saturday.
The Cougars beat Utah 61-58. Matt Carlino led the team with a season-high 19 points. Coach Nashif congratulated the team on their win and talked about Carlino's performance and how he's stepped up this season.
"We're so proud of our guys for overcoming difficult shooting and getting that win. They battled tough for that one."
BYU has now won 11 of the last 12 meetings with the Utes.
When sophomore Anson Winder joined the show, he talked about coming back from injury at the very beginning of this season and how he hopes to make an impact on the year. Winder also recapped his performance against Utah when he finished with three points in eight minutes, and wrapped up his portion with a short Q&A.
Coach Nashif finished up the show with his thoughts on how the age change for LDS missionaries might affect recruiting and by answer fan questions.
