Haws was the leading scorer at the end of the first half with 24 points on the board. The score at halftime was 45-34.
Pacific put the first points up on the board with BYU right behind. The Cougars got out to an early 6-2 lead.
It was a fast-paced and physical first half, with both squad’s bigs constantly fighting for the rebound.
By 11:10, the score was 22-12, with Tyler Haws scoring 18 points.
Pacific caught up quickly to bring the score to 29-26, the closest since the start of the half. BYU didn’t let it last long bringing the score to 40-31.
Both teams were very physical and aggressive in the remaining five minutes of the first half, with the fouls to show for it including a technical foul for Kyle Collinsworth and Pacific’s Trevin Harris.
Haws led BYU with 24 points, the most he’s scored in a first half this season.
